The bō (rokushakubō, kun(Okinawan), bong (Korean), pang (Cantonese), or bang (Mandarin)) is one of the most commonly used weapons in traditional martial arts. The simplicity of a simple staff belies the fantastic array of techniques available. While some people prefer a bo to match their height, it is generally 6 feet long and either straight, end to end, or tapered down at each end for faster movement and better balance.

I make tapered bo, straight round bo , and straight octagonal bo. Many of my designs include multiple layers of exotic and American hardwood, laminated together for strength, straightness, and beauty. I use various methods to make these bo, including hand-carving.

Below are examples of designs I have made in the past. Each of these is a unique, one-of-a-kind piece. Some of these are designs that I may repeat if I find the right wood.
